How's the crazy seaon going for everyone? I've been out shopping the last 2 days. Of course I left it all till the last minute. Wasn't as bad as I thought though.

Went out to dinner last night in Skycity for my birthday, which is actually on Thursday. Check out the amazing birthday cake Mum got me. Mmmmmm it's soooo yummy. The topping is meringuey stuff and the cake part, OMG, it's like a trifley, cheesecakey thing with boysenberries too. It's so divine. I've never had anything like it before.

After dinner we went and took some city photos. I love city shots. Here's a couple. I have to admit a lot of them were out of focus cause I was trying to snap them quickly, dammit. Emma took this one. Hey we got the Billabong sign in too LOL.

Loving the Skytower one with the cool pink sky behind.
The FAM.

So yeah that's about it.

I'M BACK

LOL I don't think anyone checks my blog anymore I'm so slack at blogging lately. But if you do happen to drop by here's a few goodies for you.

Scrapcamp blog updated with photos and thank yous.

NZ Dare blog updated with Slide Show of all the cool Dare # 12 entries.

A layout and card using the new Heidi Grace range we have just got in at Scrappin Downunder. Also see another layout on the NZ Dare Blog. The most divine papers and embellishments and rub ons. MMmmm.

And here is my double pager Up2Scrap entry that wasn't published. The scan has cut of the line that goes right around the edge of both layouts.

Happy Scrapping and Happy Christmas shopping.

WOW that was a great weekend. Sorry I haven't updated my blog. I've been so tired and working and spending time with the family. I haven't had a chance to make the photos smaller to put on my blog yet either. Will get to it though. Will also update the Scrapcamp blog later too. We had a great time and it seems that everyone who came did too.

Off to the Maori surfing Nationals this weekend in Raglan. James is competing; so looking forward to just sitting around and watching that. I love it, watching these awesome surfers manouvering their way around the waves. So clever I tell you. Wish I could do it.

Recent cool movies I've seen:
In Her Shoes - tissues material
The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - strange but very interesting.

Might have some photos ready this afternoon.
Laters.

Movies, new banner etc.

Did anyone watch 'The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants' on SKY last night. Did you have your tissues handy. I'd been wanting to see this movie for ages but I didn't realise how sad it was. Happy ending though in case I've put you off. What a cool movie though.

Time for a new banner. Had a little play with some of my own brushes. Nothing great but OK for now.

I meant to say I was pleased that Matt won NZ Idol. We liked him from the beginning. He seems a really sweet guy. Loved his voice.

I can't believe how close Scrapcamp is. 9 more sleeps before I pick Karen up from the airport and we make our way to Yolandes the night before camp. Ooohhh how exciting. So looking forward to seeing and meeting everyone. If you are coing and didn't receive a newsletter in the last couple of days please let us know. RANDLGRAY@xtra.co.nz.

World Wide Dare

I did it, finally got it all up on the NZ Dare blog at midnight last night but it was totally worth it. Go check out the fantastically awesome layouts and then go check out the other dare blogs taking part in this incredible Dare Across the World.
How Dare You - Aust
Everyone is Speshal - UK
The Effers - US and Canada (yay Gen)

OK so the dare consists of 4 parts, 1 from each dare blog, all on the one layout.
Childhood memory or dream theme
Cover the whold page as in every square inch of the backlground
Throw in some paint somehwhere
Title on the photo

Here's mine:

I loved creating this layout. Brought back some great memories. Got out some old papers and other bits and pieces. Heaps of fun and extra special cause we were so honoured to be doing this with these awesome people from around the world. And so proud to be part of such an awesome bunch of girls on the NZ Dares.

I'd also like to say thanks to the wonderfully awesome Michelle Grant from the Aussie dares for creating the incredible banner for us. How cool is it!!

Have fun creating!!

I know, I know ...

... I've been a slack biarch LOL. Where does the time go.
Like to say congrats to the girls on the new Scrapbooking by Design DT. Great choices there Lisa. Have seen some cool stuff from some of those girls thru the NZ Dares.

Speaking of NZ Dares you guys will have to be around next Friday night to check out something way cool and pretty damn big happening on that there blog. You will be amazed.

Scrapcamp is 3 weeks away. OMG. 3 weeks away. Very cool classes and very cool product and very cool people. I can't wait. We should have some sneak peeks ready for you soon on the Scrapcamp blog.

Nice to catch up with the girls last night Nic, Lucy, Tracy and Ruth. Few laughs, just what I needed.

Got my nails off the other day and now my nails are very thin. Is that usual. Tell me, do you get them done at a beauty salon or at one of those nail places that are popping up in all the malls these days. That's where I got mine done and I'm thinking maybe I should go to a salon next time. Yes there will be a next time, right before Scrapcamp. I actually liked them when I got used to them.

Thats all for now folks.
Thanks for checking my blog and please leave a comment.

I made a blinkie

for the NZ Dare blog. It's in the sidebar here. Help yourself to it if you want to add it to your siggies etc, you can just right click on it and Save Picture as etc, then you need to host it at a site that hosts animated gifs like Photobucket. I have yet to figure out how to make it so when you click on it, it links to the site, if anyone knows could you please fill me in.
Have fun!!

It's all about colour

I was going to do this layout for the orange and green + one other colour dare but decided to go with the one I did. I got these yummy coloured pipe cleaners from Arthurs Emporium. Ever since I saw Kim Henkel using pipe cleaners on her layouts I wanted to try too. They are so bendy and cool to shape and come in nice bright colours.
Talking about colour I got the Autumn Leaves book Designing with Color the other day and they have a blog too. It's great as always. Alot like the other DW books, just even more Eye Candy and tips.
And have you seen there's more AL books coming out - Freestyle 2 and Designing with Details. I can't keep up.
In case you're wondering I'm getting used to my nails though one has broken off. I bit it and it cracked - naughty me. Quite liking them now actually. Nearly time for a back fill and a good file down. And thanks everyone for the tips.
If you decide to have a go at pipe cleaners on your layouts please link them back here in the comments so I can see.

It's been a week since my last blog ...

... and over the week I've thought of so many things I could say but I just didn't find the time.

1. Check out the Scrapcamp blog for a change of venue. Scrapcamp is now at Rotorua. Nothing else has changed, same price, same classes etc etc, just a venue change. We went there last time and had a ball. So an awesome time is guaranteed.
2. Crocs - A friend ordered 2 pairs for me from the US over a year ago (pink and brown) and now I see they are here in NZ and in The Warehouse of all places and also in Stirling Sports. So here's your chance people, if you haven't already, run and get some. They are the most comfortable shoes in the world. I worked every day last week and wore them every day and I never once got sore feet as I usually do. Lynda came in the shop the other day and she was wearing some and when I visited Nic the other day she was wearing some. They are great and cool colours too. You can even get little kid ones I've heard.
3. Acrylic Nails - I had them done for the first time ever in the holidays as a treat. Emma had her braces off and while we waited for her retainers we went and had our nails done. Who can scrapbook with these things. It takes me forever to peel the back off a photo split. And my Mum said ' Oh Lianne, they really don't suit you'. So tell me who else has them or has had them and do you love them or hate them. Any tips would be good too.
4. While you're at Nic's blog she is doing draws all this week for Q & Co brads so you can enter this competition.
5. Check out the NZ Dare blog for some cool orange themed layouts.
6. And lastly, thanks heaps for all your congratulations on my Up2Scrap ET spot.

Happy scrapping without acrylic nails LOL.

YAY I can say ...

I made it onto the 2007 Up2Scrap Elite Team. I'm rapt and the other girls on the team are awesome. It's going to be a great year. Really looking forward to it. Thanks Steph and Jo for the opportunity.
Last day tomorrow for NZ Dare #8. Lots of very cool entries so far. And another exciting dare going up on Friday.

What I've been doing

Here's a layout I did for work using a Bazzill big paper clip and big button. The title 'Sweet' is from my brief but enjoyable encounter with the Cricut.
And here's an idea for a Christmas card using the wooden laser cut Pocketbook and large Holly - so cool. Love the wooden laser cuts.
Happy blogging :))

Thursday, September 21, 2006

I've been defeated

It's near on impossible to update your blog everyday. But I will keep trying.

I was at work till 9 o'clock last night as we had a Tools night and the Cricut lady came and did a demo. OMG I want one. They are sooooo cool. The cool thing about them is they come with the best cartridge - George and Basic Shapes - and another cool thing is it prints so many sizes.

Another very cool thing is we got the new range of MME called Bohemia in the shop. I'm in heaven. Cannot wait to start playing with that. Loving all the transparent die cuts and frames.

Stay cool.

Test the Nation

So how did we do in the Test the Nation. I am in the yellow zone, meaning I'm not at risk now but I need to do some work to stay out of the red zone.
I learnt a lot from the programme. I need to exercise which was obvious; I'm confused about butter and margarine; I should eat 1 serving of red meat the size of my palm a day, and 5 servings of fruit and veges the size of my palm a day; oily fish such as tuna and salmon are good for you; I should have trim milk; I should cut out biscuits; muesli bars and chocolate bars have the same amount of calories or was it cholesterol.
How did you go?

Saturday, September 16, 2006

Not my fault

I tried to blog last night but something was wrong with Blogger. I couldn't get into it. Honestly I tried. I've been doing so well with blogging every day. It's not easy you know.
Glitter is back. Check out these new Making Memories products. I'm inspired to get out the Jac paper and the punches and plaaaaay.
I'm going to Yolandes today. We gonna have fun while we sort out Scrapcamp stuff.

Thursday, September 14, 2006

:((

Well that didn't go to plan. I'm a little disappointed Toby or Dilana didn't win. I'm quite gutted actually. But I guess they thought Lucas was the one. I think Toby would have been better. Though in listening to Lucas singing at the end he really had more of the husky rock voice. Toby was more punk. Dilana was incredible though. When Toby went I was sure she was going to win.
Oh well, both Dilana and Toby will make it on their own anyways.

Keep up the daily blogging folks!!

Wednesday, September 13, 2006

OMG that was the best Rockstar yet. Weren't they AMAZING. Who's going to win!!

Tuesday, September 12, 2006

Seems I'm not the only one without a dishwasher after all. Yes we had a roster going once upon a time - we all had a night each to do the dishes and I did the rest of course, but at least I got off 3 nights. Doesn't seem to happen that way anymore. We're all too busy, so it's all up to me now.

Have added a slide show of all the entries for NZ Dare # 6. Go check them out. It was an extremely hard choice and you'll see why.

Monday, September 11, 2006

So ...

... what thing do you most want in your life right now, that would make it easier. For me it's a dishwasher, oh how I long for a dishwasher. Yes I'm probably the only person in the whole world that dosen't have a dishwasher yet. But it's coming, soon, as soon as we alter the kitchen to fit one in. Soon, as in within the next year I hope. LOL.
So what do you wish for most right now that would make your life so much easier.

How cool ...

Michelle informed me on Saturday that they have their own blogs. The Rockstar Supernova guys that is.
Here's Toby's and you can link to the others from there. I love the quote on Dilanas blog in her Aug 28th post.

Saturday, September 09, 2006

Not much to say tonight.

Cool metal dare on the NZ Dare blog.
Look out for Scrapcamp news this weekend.

Thursday, September 07, 2006

Dare winners are up

Yes the dare winners are up on the NZ Dare blog. Wow that was the hardest choice ever for us. So many amazing entries. Congratulations Gwen - awesome layout. And to Monique for winning the draw.

ROCKSTAR Supernova is totally rocking. Sooo sad to see Storm Large leave tonight, but someone had to go. It's getting down to the nitty gritty now and anyone could win. Though I have to say Toby is the man. Loooove his song - ah oh ah ohahoh. Fantasmic. LOL. And he's so hot. Cool eyes.

New dare goes up tomorrow night.

Wednesday, September 06, 2006

Busy, busy, bsuy.

Work today. Picked Emma up from dancing 6pm, got the groceries, came home, cooked dinner.

Have written out all the names on bits of paper of all the NZ Dare entries for each dare so far. Emma is just folding them up now while I blog, then I'm going to draw the winner for one of our prizes sponsored by Scrapbook Outlet NZ which we'll announce tomorrow sometime. Yehaa.

Catch ya tomorrow.

Teenagers and dogs ...

... who'd have them. If you're not worrying about them you're cleaning up after them. If you're not telling them off, you're driving them everywhere (teenagers) or taking them for walks (dogs). No wonder I have no time for anything.

Anyway, here's the other layout I did in Karen's online class on Sunday. Top and bottom cut off again. Really really loved doing this workshop. Pleased with the results.
And if I thought I'd had enough doodling inspiration check out this. Scroll down a bit. And how cool is her banner. Me thinks it's time for me to have a new one - banner that is.

Catch ya tomorrow. Ooohhh work tomorrow - gonna be harder to blog.

Monday, September 04, 2006

I'm here

New Poppy Ink gallery with one of my favourite guest artists - Danielle Thompson.

Had a wonderful online class with Karen Ridgeway yesterday. It was her Focus on Photos doodling class. So fun. Here's one of the layouts I did. The top and bottom have been cut off a bit. It's the last couple of days for Dare # 6. I've enjoyed seeing all the amazing entries coming in.

Happy Fathers Day

We went to Cafe Kaos in Tuakau for brunch today for Fathers Day - yummo. My french toast - lip licking good.
This photo says it all. That is the table sign that sneaked it's way into the picture on purpose. Very appropriate to Rob - the Chaos part that is. He's listening intently to James explaining about his night out last night, with that slight smirk on his face, probably remembering back to his day doing the same thing.

I'm just preparing to do an online class in like 15 minutes. Wahoo. My first ever online class and it's with Karen Ridgeway, so excited.

See ya tomorrow.

Saturday, September 02, 2006

I'm here ...

... yes I am. Home from work and straight to the blogger.

2 things:
Ali W's cool as article in the latest Scrapbook Creations - go Ali. I have it in my hot little hand and it's great.

And in the other hand, the latest For Keeps and the new Design Team. Sharon is this you? I think it is. Way to go. Have fun.

See ya tomorrow.

Friday, September 01, 2006

I'm daring myself ...

...to blog everyday. Who else is keen. Tell me if you do - link in the comments.
I am so bad at this, so I'm going to make myself add something each day, even a little snippet or a cool link I've found or anything on my mind. It's the 1st day of September today and the first day of spring - yay roll on Summer. I'm gonna try and post every day in September for starters.

How cool was the Last Scrapper Standing competition. Check out the winner, what an awesome gallery. And congratulations Marieke for making it to the final Dare. And wow wow what amazing layouts were created over that month.

Check out this cool new manufacturer from France. I want those papers. How cool is the home page.

Monday, August 21, 2006

I created a Slide Show! Check it out!

So fed up with trying to add some layouts I decided to make a slideshow.
Layouts are:
You Guys - from Wendy's doodling class at CC06.
Cupcakes - my scraplift of Michelles layout.
Sunset - my sand it, paint it, clothe it layout, another cyber crop challenge.
I wanted to share some layouts but for some very annoying reason I can't seem to upload images at the moment. Is anyone else having the same problem with Blogger?

Saturday, August 19, 2006

The baddest blogger

I really need to update more often. Had a great time last night at an online crop. So cool chatting and I got a layout done. Michelle C I scraplifted you.

My Elsie book arrived today. What an awesome book. Thanks Trina for organising that. Check out pics of Trina's little man. So cute.

How's everyone going with their Dares. Come on guys, get scrapping and send 'em in.

I'm in love with the new Basic Grey Romani. Can't wait to get my hands on that shizz.

Might be back tomorrow.

Monday, August 14, 2006

I have photos

Wow what a fun time at CC06 - thanks Kiwiscraps for putting on a wonderful weekend. Awesome classes. So cool to meet people from forums and blogs etc. Thanks soooo much Wendy for letting me stay. I didn't get to see you before I left so thank you, thank you for having me. And thank you Kirsty for picking us up each morning and taking us home. You guys rock. Here we are on Parliament steps on Saturday night having a bit of a photo shoot LOL. Aren't we cute. From left: me, Yolande, Wendy and Kirsty. Look at that cute look on Wendy's face. And didn't her hair look so cool.

As I was flying down to Wellington on Thursday morning I took a photo of what I thought was Port Waikato from the plane. I thought I'd missed it but I hadn't. You were right Megan. So here's my home and I live right at the tip of the arrow. Thats the mouth of the Waikato River to the left and Sunset surf beach in the middle there. Behind the beach is all sand dunes. The river looks very brown in the photo because of all the mud that has washed into it from the hills with all the rain we've had. It doesn't usually look brown.

Some of the No 8 Wired NZ Dare ladies in our cool tshirts. From left: Yolande, Sarah-Jane, Rachel, me, and Faye.

Yolande, Rachel and I went back to Parliament yesterday for some daytime shots.

News and updates

I couldn't wait to get home and update my blog tonight with all the exciting things I have to tell.

No. 1 - I'm a bit slow on this, I think most of you already know - we have a Scrapcamp blog. Yay. Yes the news is out about Yolandes and my next Scrapcamp and we've even got our own Scrapcamp blog where you'll be able to keep up with the latest news about Scrapcamp. So go check it out if you haven't already.

No. 2 - I was so rapt to find out I was one of the winners of the Aussie Scrap Source CherryArte competition with my Surfer Girl layout. You can check it out here. How cool is that. So excited to get my prize. I love CherryArte.

No. 3 - The No 8 Wired Dare # 4 is up and it's a goodie. Can't wait to see what you all come up with. Come on I dare you to do the Dare.

And No. 4 - the layout inspired by my kids High School Wearable Arts show I told you about. Feathers - I knew when I saw them on a costume or 2 or 3, I had to find my stash of feathers and use them on a layout. How cool I thought. So here it is along with some of last months Tarisota Addiction collection. The photo is of Emma ready to go to the ball.

OK I'm not going to be horrible but please tell me why Dana got knocked out of Rock Star Supernova and not Zayra.

Monday, July 31, 2006

Swap-pinned out I was by the time I left Nics place on Saturday night. But what an awesome day of laughs, fun, yummy food and good company. With the help of Lucy and Ruth I managed to make just over 30 pins, I nearly gave up half way through but was encouraged to carry on. Thanks girls. I'm so glad they are all done. Bring on CC06.

Wednesday, July 26, 2006

OMG just watched my fav programme Rock Star Supernova. Dilana is incredible. She has the most amazing voice, an absolute true talent.

I went to the Pukekohe High School Wearable Arts show on Monday night. I was so glad I did. It was very cool. I didn't get any photos as my two were only appearing briefly - Emma did a cute little dance at the beginning of their House item and James an even briefer appearance dressed in a toga. Settle down Lucy and Nic. Anyway I was very inspired and even to use something on a layout. You'll see soon when I finish.

The No 8 Wired blog has gone off with a bang. There seems to be a lot of interest in it which is fantastic. Tomorrow night 6pm is the deadline for the first Dare so join in the fun and get those entries in. Some amazing ones so far; so cool to see everyones take on it.

Here's a layout I was doing for a challenge that was supposed to take 1 hour. I tried to but it took a bit longer. Background stamped with MM foam flower stamps.

Saturday, July 15, 2006

Yay, it's finally here.
You just have to go here to find out what it is.

New bloggers

Did this layout a couple of weeks ago. Played around with the contrast in the photo - like this look. Stuck the photo on the p/p and just randomly cut around the circles - used up some old rub ons and handstitched around the edge. Simple but I love the effect.

Have added some more people to my sidebar. Check out all the newies. Wahoo. Blogworld is growing.

Lots to say today

Firstly, FK Issue 44 is awesome. I looked through to see if I could find some favourites but it is all too good to name any.

You have to check out the Huffer website. It cracks me up. This is a NZ brand of skate, surf etc gear. Their logo is 3 dots and check out the names of some of the items. I love that something so simple can be so cool. Very clever.

Ball photos
James and his girlfriend Jayde went to their school ball on Saturday night. They looked amazing. Here's a few of the photos I took.
Jayde won Queen of the Ball and James won Best Dancer. Aren't they gorgeous.
1. My handsome young man.
2. James and Jayde - her dress was stunning. The colour was divine and she had a gorgeous big brooch on her left hip.
3. James and Jayde at the pre-ball.
4. James and moi.
5. I love this photo with James' head in the corner making Jayde laugh.

James surfing

Tried to add a video code at the bottom but for some reason it's not working. Anyway if you're interested in seeing James surfing here's a link. Hopefully it'll work. It takes a bit to download, if you have dial-up like me, about 5 - 10 mins, but well worth the wait. Should be quicker on Jetstream, etc. Bearing in mind too this was videoed over a year ago. Great to watch.

8.5 x 11

Why am I doing 8.5 x 11 and have I changed to this some people have asked? Yes I looove scrapping 8.5 x 11. Mainly, I love the look, I love to scrap just one photo on a page, though I do do more photos but I find it easier to put one photo on an 8.5 x 11 page. I still do 12 x 12 though, mainly for classes or samples, mags etc, but definitely I just love the look and yes I have changed to 8.5 x 11. I have a Carven, I think it is, 8.5 x 11, but I'm finding the pages fitting a bit tightly so having to cut just a bit short of 8.5 inches. I'd like to get a landscape 8.5 x 11 album.

The sun is finally out

Sorry, sorry I didn't get back and update. I had to finish one of these layouts first though. I had fun with these. I'd had the layout of James planned for awhile with the ticket and everything. Of course they never turn out how you plan but I am pleased with the result and the one of Emma, well that was heaps of fun, just went with the flow and whatever I came up with that was it. Got a little inspo from the chicky I linked you to in the last post - Fiffi - with the buttons and flowers around the photo but the rest is all mine as far as I know anyway. Off to hang with Ruth, Michelle etc today and maybe do some scrapping, mostly chatting probably.
Finally got my Freestyle book yesterday. Oohh and my FK Awards book arrived too with 2 of my layouts in. Will mull over them today.
Have a good weekend - the sun is finally shining.

Tuesday, June 20, 2006

So it seems ...

... to be becoming a once a week job updating this blog. I will try very hard this week to update more often. Went down to the Scrapbooking, Stamping show in Hamilton on Saturday. Was pretty cool, some awesome product around.
Found this cool gallery yesterday - check her out man - cool as.
I think my Tarisota just arrived - hold on - just go and check the mail. Yep another little package of adorable, yummy ribbons and fabric.
Be back later with some layouts maybe. Working on a couple today. And off to get a haircut.

Creations this week

Thank you, thank you for all the comments. You guys are the best.
I am trying desperately to line this text up with the pics but its a no go, so I give up. I'm sure you can work it all out anyway.

A couple of layouts I've done this week.

And a card inspired by the young Mrs Nic Howard. I have new stamps :))

Oh and Fiona I take classes at Scrappin Downunder in Takanini.

Busy week

Wow I had a busy week and I've been a very slack blog updater, sorry. I've had lots of visitors to my blog but not many comments :((.
Please even just say 'Hi lianne' if you visit. I loooove to see who visits.
I taught this Fabric Sticker class on Wednesday night and here's the layout we did. Was fun. I love to see everybodies take on the layout - some people chose different colours which looked so cool.

Then yesterday I took an all day crop. We had a great day didn't we Michelle. I was rapt to help a few people out with their layouts and see their pleased faces with the results.
And I still don't have my copy yet but I'm presuming since I signed the contract that this layout is in the Awards book. Has anyone seen it yet?

Here's my blogging and scrapping friend Karen, and look at Pippi Longstocking she's so cute. Tanya you're a hard case girl - thanks for helping me feel better on Sunday.

Our gang of painters.

Gaye was covered in plasters and she was 'Plastered' as in drunk - we all laughed so she won our most humorous prize.

And the big picture - so to speak. The whole gang who attended Scrapcamp.

So that's all the group photos. Sorry I didn't get them loaded sooner.

Wow did you see my visitors counter went over 10000 yesterday. Those last few 100 went fast.
