Multi-tasker extraordinaire

At this moment I am:
doing the dishes
blogging
finishing a layout
making a cup of tea
watching Desperate Housewives
and
doing the washing. OMG. How do we do it!!

Anyway we had a great time on Saturday at my last Relax n Scrap. Thanks Nic (you are awesome) for the gorgeous gift and card and Lucy for organising the other gift. You guys are the coolest man.
Thanks to everyone who came and made it such a fun day - you guys are all awesome.

*And to Karen who drove 2 hours to get there.

But I think Nic and Lucy might curse me now - cause here's some photos of them. The first is the self portrait, arm stretched out job. Go guys. They laughed and laughed so much doing this. It was very entertaining.

And here they are again aren't they so cute. Thanks guys for making it a special day.

*CHANGE OF VENUE FOR TOMORROW*

If you're coming tomorrow to the Relax n Scrap please check your emails.
I've had to change the venue because the old one is having the floor varnished. It's now going to be at Puni School. Email me if you want more info.

Basic Grey Urban Couture is so good

Did this layout today using the yumilicious Basic Grey Urban Couture papers. You can check them out at this Saturday's Relax n Scrap if you're coming. This range is so good. Check out Nic's page she did in Evana's online class today using the same range I think. Awesome.

A layout

Man I have boring titles to my posts. I can never think of something exciting. It's the same with my layouts. I'm trying to get away from naming them 'James' or 'Emma' and thinking of something really cool.
Anyway this is a 'quick' layout I did yesterday. Quick for me cause it only took me all day yesterday instead of about 3 days. As soon as I saw this Dirty Laundry paper I knew I wanted to cut those flowers out. They are such cool flowers. Loving the Scenic Route chipboard letters at the mo - used them as stencils here.

Last night I spent the evening looking for more Photoshop brushes. Found a cool free set here. I had intended to change my blog music too but spent too much time on the brushes - man they are a time waster waiting for them to download.
What are your favourite munchies at the moment? Have you tried the new Cadburys Mint Chip chocolate - SOOOO YUUUMMMM. And my newest fav - Starbursts Fruity Frusions - 3 little fruity lollies fused together and you bite off each little one and taste the yummy fruity flavours. MMMMMMMmmmmmm.

Scrapcamp

Yolande tells me that numbers are still growing which is fantastic cause it's going to be one cool weekend. If you are even thinking of coming, email Yolande kandyfenneman@actrix.co.nz and let her know. We are planning lots of cool stuff so will be good to have an idea of numbers by 31st March ( the close off date).
Off to have chocolate Girl Guide biscuits I bought from Lucy today. Yum.

Mulberry challenge

So here it is. I'm happy with my effort but I'm over the Mulberry now. Colours are much brighter IRL. Just had to do it you know. Challenge myself. On to something else now. Painted doodles I think.

Sorry. I've been meaning to let you all know how James got on.
Well as everyone said he had an incredibly, wonderful time. They stayed in the Marlborough Sounds for 7 days. He said it was awesome. They had beautiful, calm weather. They did so much - tramping, swimming, sailing from bay to bay, went to an awesome waterfall, games, sailed little boats, heaps of stuff. Then on Day 7 there was a window where the wind and swell dropped a bit and they headed down to Kaikoura - very rough, lots of people sick. They saw heaps of dolphins and whales up really close. Stayed there a night then down to Lyttleton where they stayed 2 nights before coming home. Yes he was absolutely fine and he had a fantastic time. Made heaps of friends. He had heaps to tell us. He was totally buzzing when he came home. Good to have him home and know he had a great time.

I'm working on another Mulberry layout - has anyone taken the challenge yet? I might try this challenge on BB. I like to doodle, LOL and I like paint - sounds like fun to me.
Or this challenge on Effers.
HEY how freaky is that - I just realised both challenges were set by Emily Falconbridge.
Plesae post here if you do any of the challenges.

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your sweet comments about James. He gets home today. YAY.

And thanks to my friend Yolande for helping me score one of Keisha's coaster sets. She emails me and says go to Keisha's blog right now. So I do, and Keisha says the first 3 people to comment can purchase a coaster set, but I see 7 comments so I think I'm too late but I go in anyway and see that one person has made several comments and if I comment right now I'm the 3rd. So I do and I was. It's on it's way to me now. Cool. Thanks for that Yolande.

{Mulberry Revival}
No not really. I was going through my stash the other day and I came across a heap of mulberry papers. I thought to myself there must be a way we can cool this stuff up a bit. So I challenged myself to use it on a page. Here's my effort at reviving mulberry.
I challenge you to REVIVE MULBERRY. YAY.

I miss my boy

It's the no contact thing. He's been away before for a week or so but I've talked to him on the phone or texted him, but no contact whatsoever for 10 days is pretty hard.
Does anyone live in Kaikoura? What's the weather like? Have you seen the Spirit of New Zealand sailing passed? Is she tackling high seas and stormy weather? Please tell me it's beautiful and sunny. I don't think so. Storm warnings the other day. I hope it's not that bad there. No contact that's the thing. I guess we would have heard if it was bad. He's probably having a wonderful time - I can just see him swinging from the mast.
I had a dream about him last night that he was back and I was trying to ask him what the weather had been like but I just couldn't get it out of him - he kept getting distracted and wouldn't answer me. He said he was cold. Only 2 days to go now.

I've made my sidebar all nice. It's in alphabetical order and I've added a few more links.
So please leave a comment so I can add you to my side bar.

Just want to keep this here to read over sometimes when I need reminding.

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd finger paint more, and point the finger less.
Id do less correcting, and more connecting.
Id take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less, and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
Id stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I'd run through more fields, and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd teach less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.

Who's coming to Scrapcamp

ooohhhh I thought I'd have heaps of comments from that last post. Tell me if you're coming.

How's this for cute. A little boy at school (the school I work at) today threw his togs up on the roof. When the Principal asked him what happened he said " I was walking along swinging them round and round and then they just let me go". Sooo cute. We all just laughed - classic.

Gray family update

James is on the Spirit of New Zealand at the moment. I took him to Manukau early on Sunday morning to catch the bus to Wellington, there were others on the bus going on the Spirit too. Then they sailed on Monday. They are sailing from Wellington to Lyttleton - hope the weather's OK. He had his phone taken off him on Sunday night so that's the last we hear from him till next Wednesday. I miss him already.
Other good news for James - he's been after a part time job at Jeanery 90, a surf shop in Pukekohe, and finally found out he got it last week. He starts when he gets back from the Spirit, working Mon & Tues after school and Saturdays.
Emma's good news - she passed her Bronze for Surf Life Saving so she is now a Lifeguard. Go Emma, she has only been doing it for a few weeks too.
Netball training has started - she wasn't very happy with the team she had been put in but went along to training last night and realises it is actually a very good team. She is captain.

Thought I'd share my last For Keeps DT layout that was in Issue 39. I really enjoyed putting this page together. It was for the Under $15 section.

Do you like my new banner.
News on Scrapcamp tomorrow hopefully. :))
